| 2008 Rising Star Karaoke Contest |
| Rules & Regulations 1) Preliminaries will run every Wednesday for ten (10) weeks starting March 12, 2008 and ending May 14, 2008. 2) Contestants must be 21 years of age at the time of the contest. 3) Only amateur singers will be allowed to enter. (NO karaoke hosts, employees of a karaoke shor or the corresponding establishment or professional singers will be allowed to enter.) 4) There must be a minimum of four (4) contestants and a maximum of eight (8) contestants for each preliminary or that evening's preliminary will be canceled. 5) Sign-up for the preliminary rounds will be held at 9:00PM the evening of the contest and end at 10:30PM. 6) Preliminary rounds will begin at approximately 11:00PM at DC's Saloon. 7) Contestants will be drawn at random for their singing order. 8) Rising Star Productions and/or DC's Saloon reserves the right to disqualify any contestant for any fallacies or poor behavior displayed during the contest. 9) Judges for the preliminary contests will be chosen by DC's Saloon management. A minimum of three (3) judges will be chosen at random for these rounds. 10) All songs must be a part of the Rising Star Productions song list. NO outside music will be allowed during the preliminary rounds. 11) Rising Star Productions and/or DC's Saloon reserves the right to keep any individual from performing for any reason. 12) A winner and first runner up will be chosen to proceed to the Semi-Finals from each weekly preliminary contest. 13) Each winner will receive a $20.00 bar tab from DC's Saloon and each runner-up will receive a sponsor gift. (i.e. t-shirt, hat, etc...) 14) Once a contestant has advanced to the Semi-Final round, they will not be allowed to participate in any further weekly preliminary rounds. 15) These rules are subject to change without any further notice. Semi-Finals Scoring Semi-Final round scoring will be based on the following scores: 50 Pnts Vocal Ability 25 Pnts Song Knowledge & Timing 10 Pnts Stage Presence 5 Pnts Appearance 10 Pnts Audience Reaction 100 Pnts Total Possible Score Sponsored In Part By |
